Buckholts 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament 2019

The first annual 3-on-3 Buckholts Basketball Tournament was held in Badger Gymnasium on Sunday afternoon, May 19th. There were several area teams in the contest vying for the inaugural trophy and cash prizes.

Tournament Director James Shelton explaining the "rules"
of the competition.

With two half court games going on either end of the floor,
game psychology was paramount.

The fans and players were amazed at the Michael Jordan portrayals.
Physical and mental fitness was necessary to make it to the finals.

With their moxie and mojo (and some serious skills) Jeremy Parks,
Darrell Whitfield, Steven Buhl & Marvin Whitfield from
Rosebud-Lott were undefeated and the tournament champions.

Buckholts Jr Class Fish Fry

The Junior class of Buckholts High School held a fish fry fund raiser Saturday, May 18th, at the SPJST Lodge. Lots of local folks provided, cooked and served.

"I'm sorry, Officer. I was just trying to get the Junior Class
fish fry before the creeks on the way home flooded."
I really hope Carlos didn't fall for that driver's excuse.
The secret to a good fish fry is barnyard fresh tripe
in the bottom of the fry basket.

Why is my farm raised catfish stock falling on a weekend?

No! We are NOT! Please read the sign again.

I hate losing to myself at Tic-Tac-Toe!

If the President tweets one more time today . . .

After the lights dimmed, the ceremonies kicked off with the Grand March.
Next up was a dance demonstration.
Then it was time for formal prom photos.

And of course, the proverbial selfie. (Is it still a "selfie" if
more than one person is involved?
)
Finally, the moment all had been waiting for, the announcement of the Prom Queen and King!

Haley Cazares and Zachary McGee were named Prom Queen & King.
