Badger Boys Varsity Basketball In District Playoffs

The Buckholts Varsity Boys Badgers entered the playoffs for District, Tuesday, February 19th, in McGregor HIgh School gymnasium.

The Badgers (1A) were pitted against the Walnut Spings (2A) Hornets

in the first round of play.

The Badgers were fleet afoot.

Often taking it on the chin.

And, despite love being in the air, The Hornets stung the Badgers,
ending the boys run in District play. The final score was
Walnut Springs 79 to Buckholts' 50.

Badgers Secure Play In District Basketball Playoffs.

In a must win challenge, the Buckholts Varsity Boys basketball team clashed with the Varsity Panthers from Richards ISD, Tuesday, February 12, in Buckholts.

The clashing continued as both teams fought for the win.

At the end of the first quarter, the Badgers had a hefty lead, 26-11. The Panthers came back in the second period to pull within 10 points of the Badgers, 46-36. At the end of the third quarter, there was still a 10 point gap with Buckholts leading 63-53. Richards shorted the scoring gap in the final period, but the Badgers hung in and won with a final score of Buckholts 78, Richards 71. The win put the Badgers in District contention for the first time in a long time.

Chasing The Dream Alive

For the the first time in many seasons, the Buckholts' Varsity boys basketball team faced off  against Oglesby for a playoff berth in District contention.

Caleb Lopez (#23)s scores 2 points in the first quarter to give the Badgers the edge.

Jonathon Cazares (#12) breaks through the Oglesby defense in a pivotal move.

At the end of the game, the Buckholts  Badgers  were the victors over the visiting Oglesbys Tigers

54-47.

Lady Badgers End Basketball Season

The Buckholts Varsity Basketball girls were in Calvert last Thursday hoping to cinch a position in District playoffs.

The Lady Badgers defeated the Lady Trojans last Tuesday to force Thursday night's elimination game.

Calvert maintained the lead through all four periods, ending the Lady Badgers season, 55 to 44.

The Last 2018-19 Season Home Basketball Game For the JH Badgers

For the last home games of the 2018-19 Buckholts' Junior High Basketball season, The JH Badgers welcomed the Bartlett Junior High Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs to Badger Gymnasium. The JH Lady Badgers had the first chance on the painted wood.

Then, the JH Boy Badgers were hooping it up.
